Photography Classes
Instruction is clear and concise with the majority of the time designated for hands-on practice with instructor guidance.
Each class is on-location in Lexington, and designed to fit the needs of the specific class. Our 2-hour classes are kept small, allowing plenty of time for question-and-answer, learn-and-practice and trial-and-error with feedback from the both of us.
We (Benny & Veronica) have been working as a photography team since 2006. Although we make a great pair, we each bring different strengths to the table - which is why we BOTH instruct each small group class!
Together, our work has been published in numerous books and magazines. We have done photography work in over 5 countries and all over the continental United States.
Although the classes will build on the information taught in other classes for a better understanding altogether, no class is a prerequisite to another.
We offer 2-hour classes in 2 formats:
Small Group Classes (2-6 students) - $80 per student
Private Classes (1 student) - $150 per student
2022 SMALL GROUP CLASS DATES
These dates will fill on a first-come basis with a 6 person maximum.
BASIC PHOTOGRAPHY EXPOSURE: How to Use Your Fancy Camera
A digital SLR (or DSLR) Camera can revolutionize your photos... IF you know how to use it.
In this class we will teach you how to take a photo using the Three Elements of Exposure: Shutter Speed, Aperture and ISO. Knowing the elements will allow you to control attributes like motion blur, freezing action and depth of field. By the end of the class you will be able to take the camera from 'automatic' to 'manual'.
This 2-hour class is a mixture of instruction, practical exercise and 1-on-1 coaching.
BASIC PHOTOGRAPHY COMPOSITION: How to Take Excellent Photographs
Go from pushing a button to creating a work of art.
In this class we will teach you how to improve your composition, use lenses and light your subject. By the end of the class you will know key principles that will give you better images and increase your confidence.
This 2-hour class is a mixture of instruction, practical exercise and 1-on-1 coaching.
NIGHT PHOTOGRAPHY: How to Take Open Exposure Photos
Join us for an evening of great memories and amazing photos!
In this class we hone our instruction down to just one element - Open Exposure. We will spend the main portion of our class throughout the city exploring and playing with different ways to push the boundaries of open exposure photography to create unique and fun photos with light.
This 2-hour class is a mixture of instruction, 1-on-1 coaching and LOTS of playing with light tricks.
Due to the nature of this course, our class size is limited to 6 people and cost increased to $100 per student. A Tripod and walking shoes are required for this class.
